Commenting Issues – Resolved?

Turns out that in fact there was a problem with the commenting system of my blog. About 20% of the comments got through, the rest encountered an error message and are gone. I’m not sure why this happened now…

As part of my attempt to resolve this, I updated all my plugins. And as a result it seems all my Facebook likes vanished. Great…

Seems like this has been resolved! I’m pretty annoyed that I lost my FB likes (some posts had almost 20), but I guess I can start over… the plugin was only used for around a month so far anyway.

You seem to be treating your Facebook likes as though they were as important as Google PR. Not to worry, you’ll get them back from your loyal social network readers ;-).

Hey Udegbunam – I actually think Facebook likes are more important in many ways than pagerank. The likes are a measure of popularity (just like the retweet numbers), while the page rank doesn’t really do anything. Doesn’t affect rankings so much (you can trump a PR5 with a PR0). It’s only good for linking purposes, and I’m not using my blog to give link juice to any of my own sites..
