Before creating a blog you should have the passion. The creativity, quality and the message should be clearly stated to call attention to readers.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment! I think that it's worth putting the effort. Blogging gets more fun as your blog becomes more established and you get repeat visitors.

Of course, I recently broke this rule myself - haven't blogged in a month for various reasons, certainly not a good thing to do as a blogger.

I've started an got into many blogs. Being in the whole internet/hosting field, its really easy for me to create one.

I've often had ideas about a blog, its starts well, I get to about 20 or so people a day and lose interest in the blog (my blog). I then start another one to do with something else. And I've read all the tips from eliteblogger.net and know the theory, but i've never really had a sucessfull blog.

I personally think, that you should have a blog that you are interested in, and that can fit into your life. aswell as the tips mentioned above.

Thanx for putting the "spark" back into my blogging.

Is that a duplicate comment? Anyways thanks for sharing your tips. It's not always someone can contribute but they can thank for a job well done. I agree with the showing interest in another blog. I love to see participation and reciprocation if even out of politeness although at times the topic really is of no interest to us. I think the style of writing counts..making it in a more personalized and story like matter can contribute big time as people love stories. And humor too...

I must add, along with writing well, I think adding enticing and captivating pictures to your blog posts, as well as frequently updating a picture on your homepage, can have a big impact. Its the “eye candy” that catches a visitor and then leads them into reading your blog post.

Hi Keith,

I'll be glad to help. This blog is pretty new as well, but readership is definitely growing and I'm quite pleased with the progress.

About Flickr, yes - I know, I've been using some in some of the first posts (from the affiliate summit) - it is a fantastic resource.

As for CommentLuv and KeywordLuv - check out part 2 :) Both are highly recommended.

Found this post at just the right time.
I'm just starting out with a Wordpress site and need all the help I can get to build up a readership.
I'll check out part 2.
Just to follow on from the comments about using images... Flickr has some fantastic photos and many are creative commons!
I'm interested in your commentLuv and keywordLuv... any advice on using these?
