Spam has needed to become much more intelligent and creative in order to not look like spam. I often do read it, with no absortion of content, but a lot of analysis of tactics. There are clever spammers and some good ideas crop up in looking at an overview. It really has become an art form to learn from for better purposes. Interestingly, the cartoon is not too far off. I like your attitude towards it. :) With my blog I normally just get empty spam comments or some really random wording in another language.
