affiliate marketing is the great equalizer online. I a have had my ups and downs over the years but all in all it is a great way to make some extra cash.I can also say that the guys at wealthy affiliate are very good and put a lot into the product they offer (in my experience with them). Thanks for having KeywordLuv on your site. I just started using it myself for my blogs

Spunkyduckling,

I would suggest that you visit many of the major affiliate blogs (a few in my blogroll). If you're interested in SEO, visit the major SEO blogs. Go to the forums (i.e. warrior forum, digital point) - these are great places to ask questions.

When I started I also kind of looked for someone to teach me everything, but that's not going to happen - you'll have to chase information on your own. None of it is rocket science, but there is a lot to know, and a lot to discover that you need to know. People will help with specific questions, but you won't get an overall description/summary of "how to succeed in affiliate marketing".

Quote: "Thanks DiTesco! Personally I’m believe I’m exactly where you are, and very well remember my time as a newbie. Too bad most people leave at that stage when they realize it’s not as easy as they’ve been led to believe."
Tips to offer me for motivation? How about visiting my site and telling me what you think? Am I off to a good start? Sorry to be so spammy...I'm a newbie affiliate who would quickly like to get past the struggling affiliate type..it's about time been months anyway!
Did I hear you say SEO tricks? I won't even bother that's so way out of my league! Only useless keywords are what I rank high with but then its the easiest of topics for me to write..
Anyways Reading about the different affiliates was fun! You've summed them up perfectly!
.-= spunkyduckling@Why God Made Pets´s last blog ..Love to smile or laugh or maybe go awww... =-.

Hi Santa. What a good nickname for this question :)

Yes, it is possible. It's just harder than it looks. The concept is simple, but the devil is in the details.

Udegbunam, thanks man, I appreciate your saying this! I wish I could claim to writing the 'funniest blog about SEO'. Every now and then I have an idea for a funny post, which may or may not work (I can't tell, since the number of visitors does not seem to correlate with the number of comments - at all!), but it's only a portion of what I write so...

Not an experiment, no. I've never written an SEO tutorial not because I can't but because there are a billion other blogs that do this. I'm trying to show my own take on things in this blog. That being said, I did discover a handful of SEO tricks I'm not sure other people know... but at this point would rather not share them (forgive me for being selfish).

As for using SEO New York as an anchor text. I'm not looking for an SEO consulting job, but if one falls on my lap I won't say no to it (probably). Using this anchor text increases the chance this may happen.

What other anchor text could I be using? "Industry Review"? It doesn't mean much and I'm already #3 on Google. My name? Similarly. "Funniest blog about SEO"? Maybe, but who searches for that query? So I just picked something which may be of use.

@Udi: The feeling is mutual. You say you've never written an SEO tutorial so what's the use of trying to rank for SEO New York? Is it part of your experiment too?
